The purpose of the club is to give students at South Forsyth High School the opportunity to learn the sport of fencing. It is open to all full-time students at SFHS and welcomes complete beginners as well as experienced fencers. In Georgia high schools, fencing is a club activity led by a professional coach, rather than a sanctioned sport. Our faculty sponsor is Mr. Tommy Hipp. Team parent for 2015-16 is Mrs. Deanna Seely. Why Fencing?
Why fence? Because it's fun! You don't need to be large or strong in order to fence. Fencing is a combination of strategy, movement, and control and sometimes referred to "physical chess". Anyone can learn how to fence and it promotes fitness, sportsmanship, physical control, balance, and self-control. It also looks great on college applications and opens many doors.

"Life without fencing is like a broken épée, pointless" "Of course it's fun, it's sword fighting!"
